Apart from the excellent work Joe did for me on my property on a number of occasions over the past year, he also helped me out in a significant way when I was being treated exceptionally poorly by two other businesses who were involved with my house renovations. The work provided by one business was extremely shoddy (the granite bench was incorrectly measured resulting in large gaps, and the corners of the bench did not match) with the company refusing to acknowledge or remedy the problems in response to my expressing my concerns. The second business was a large well known North Shore company who knowingly provided me with an inferior product for a large piece of work after I had paid for the 'top of the range' version. Without Joe's knowledge, sense of fairness, and support, all of which were willingly provided, I do not believe I would have had a successful outcome regarding either of these experiences but rather, I would have continued to have been bullied. Nothing but good things to say about Joe and Summit Renovations. Joe came round on time to quote for some jobs including built-in wardrobe jams and top and some t&g on our verandah. We are more than pleased with Joe's response to our need to get a list of jobs done around our house. He arrived on time and well prepared, and proved more than capable of coming up with great solutions for some challenging problems. Some minor repairs were needed, but these got the same care and attention as the larger ones. I had expected an unavoidable mess when some weather boards needed to be removed temporarily. In the event I could hardly see where the repair had been done, and that applied to everything Joe tackled. Getting a reliable tradesman to carry out smaller scale jobs can be frustrating and difficult. However I'll certainly be calling on Joe again and I can recommend his work without reservation. We cant recommend Joe highly enough for his integrity ,helpfulness and passion to see our renovation contract through to the finish. There were quite a lot of fiddely bits and places where some ingenuity and ideas were required and Joe came through with flying colours. He showed a genuine interest in seeing the job was successful and had subbies there as soon as they were needed. The whole job was finished in quick time with absolutely no mucking around. .Joe is a pleasure to deal with and we will be nailing him down for more work in the future for sure,tks again Joe! Joe Moncur contracted to me as a carpenter from December 2011 until May 2012. During this time we were doing a major renovation/extension on my own home. Joe proved to me quickly that he had the skills and the standards that I required. Not only is Joe a very good carpenter, he is a really good guy. Joe came to work for me for 3 months during the summer of 2008 in California. He only had a 3 month visa but I wish he could have stayed much longer. I was really lucky to get a guy of Joe's calibre on our team. I'm a real estate investor/developer and usually have a couple projects going at a time. Joe plugged in easily and was a great help working on two different remodels. Work wise, he had a high attention to detail and always did clean work. He showed up on time and got the job done right the first time. On one project we completely gutted a house and built it back up from nothing. He was involved in all aspects. From demolition, to framing, to roofing and even some random electrical work. He was an all rounder and got involved in all areas. As a person he's a humble, relaxed and easy going guy. A very positive person to have around and he has a good sense of humour. He's a guy with lofty goals and I see him as someone who will reach much success in his life, in whatever area he decides.
